Happy Memorial Day!

As you enjoy time with family and friends today and, Lord willing, a grill at some point - take a few minutes to remember all the men and women that have given so much to make it possible. We truly live in the greatest nation on earth, and it's all because of God's mercy and their willing sacrifice. I raise my lemonade glass in their honor!

Teacher Gift Personalized Pot

This time of year, we always get a lot of personalized flower pot orders for teacher gifts. When one of my customers, Christine, recently told me her idea for their group teacher gift, I thought it sounded so cute and creative! She sent me pics of the finished product so I could share them with you and hopefully give you some good ideas as well.

She cut a flower shape for each kid in the class, attached their pic to the center of each flower, and then had the kids sign the back. She attached the flowers to regular clear florist stakes and inserted them into floral foam down inside the pot (this is a great idea since it doesn't add any extra weight to the pot!) She then covered the foam with burlap. Another great idea would be to use some decorative moss to cover the top! She attached gift cards to the stakes, and ta-da! What a lucky teacher Miss McWilliams is! Such a special gift. I have such smart customers. :)

Water Cycle Print

Well, there's no doubt it's springtime here, with all the turbulent weather we've been having lately. Fortunately we've been spared the worst of it - my heart goes out to those folks in our neighboring states that have suffered and lost so much! I came across this print by dialmformichele on Etsy today and loved the illustration style. Such a great way to teach the little ones where all that rain comes from!

Walking Tacos

With Memorial Day right around the corner, I thought this was a genius idea for a picnic or party. I'd never heard of a "walking taco", but I'd eat just about anything housed in a frito bag. You just open the bag, pile in your ingredients, grab a spoon and chow down. This would be perfect for basic tacos ingredients or frito chili pie...mmm. And the best part - no dishes to do!

Plaid, please!

IF I wasn't currently sporting a pregnant belly - which I am, and IF I was the kind of girl that would drop $1,500 on what can't be more than a few yards of fabric - which I most certainly am NOT, I would love to have this dress. You gotta give it to Mr. Kors - he actually found a way to make plaid flattering. I know that model can't weigh more than 85 lbs. soaking wet, which I'm pretty sure I blew past without ever looking back in about the 5th grade, but I still think the design of the dress would make the average gal look nice and curvy but still wear-it-to-church decent.

Happy Mother's Day

Enjoying this day with my sweet little boy.

I was just telling my husband last night that I couldn't imagine a more perfect child for us. He's the perfect combination of both of us, but also has traits that are all his own. His tender heart amazes me, and the joy he brings is immeasurable. He is going to be the best big brother to the little girl growing inside me, who we can't wait to meet and already love!

God is so good and merciful to bless us with beautiful, healthy children. They truly are tiny little vessels that overflow with His never ending love for us. I am so proud and at the same time, humbled, to be their mommy.
