Walking on clouds

I scored these Nike flip flops today at DSW on my lunch hour. (Don't worry, honey, I had a coupon!) I have been on the hunt for some comfortable shoes for the upcoming summer months when it's super hot and I am super preggo. When I stepped into these today, it felt like each foot had it's own little memory foam mattress. They are generously padded with some sort of material (not sure what it is, but it's magical) that conforms to your foot when you step on it. Ahhh...my big swollen feet will thank me come August!

Attn: Fellow Ketchup Lovers

I am an admitted ketchup lover, though I do only put it on the normal stuff like burgers and fries (unlike Ranch dressing, which is so much more versatile - but that is another post entirely). I am appalled when I leave the drive-thru and find only 1-2 packets in my to-go bag. Much to my husband’s dismay and embarassment, I require more like 6-8 packets for the average combo meal. So when I went through the drive thru at Chick-Fil-A today and asked for extra ketchup, the guy at the window says, “Oh, but we have these bigger ones now,” and held up the new Heinz Dip & Squeeze packet.  “Still, I’m going to need a couple extra,” I tell him, concealing my excitement. I’ve said it before, I’m a sucker for cool packaging, and I had read about this fancy new ketchup packet some time ago. I couldn’t wait to give it a try.

So here’s my review: I was eating in the car, so I used the squeeze function on my sandwich with one packet and the dipping function for my fries with another. (I don’t recommend trying out both ways on the same packet :) It does hold at least twice as much as a regular ketchup packet. It’s easy to open making it a lot less messy overall, and bonus: the opening is large enought to dip the entire width of a Chick-Fil-A waffle fry! The only drawback: it’s a little on the shallow side, so you can’t dip very deep.  It’s thoughtfully designed in a bottle shape and fun to use. Way to go, Heinz! You just made a ketchup packet cool - who woulda thought?

A fresh look for spring

This just popped up in my inbox today, new from Ulta. The fresh colors put me in the mood for spring along with the 70+ degree weather we've been enjoying this week! Looks like I've found something to spend my birthday money on!

I love Bare Minerals products. If you haven't ever tried them, I highly recommend picking up one of their starter kits. You get a good sampling of the product plus the brushes you'll need and a great instructional video without having to invest a fortune. And if you're lucky, you can sometimes catch them on sale!

Valentine Printable

I'm one of those people that's not super big on Valentine's Day. It's alright, I guess - it does come with some pretty good candy. But my husband is officially off the hook for any kind of flowers, gifts, etc. Usually though, he will show up with one of those giant candy filled hearts claiming it is his gift to me. Only he knows I don't really care for them. But see, he does. It's an excuse to get it for himself, really. So you know what I do? I poke holes in all the candy until I find all the good caramel and truffle filled ones. :)

So when I came across this free printable card from mmmcrafts via how about orange, I knew it was the perfect card for him! All in love, of course.

I am Wonder Woman

When I was little, I had a pair of Wonder Woman Underoos. I loved them so much that I wore them one year for my Halloween costume with some red tights and cowboy boots. (Yes, there is a pic of that, but it's buried somewhere in a box at my parents', so you'll just have to use your imagination :). If they made them for big people, I'd have some - maybe wear them to work under my clothes when I had a big meeting or something.

Well, the other day for my birthday, my sweet sis gave me the next best thing - Wonder Woman nail polish by MAC. Not sure it will deflect bullets, but it is the coolest shade of navy ever! And I love the packaging too, cause I'm a nerd like that. There's a whole line of WW cosmetic goodies that are more than tempting. So channel your inner Lynda Carter and go visit the MAC counter before it's all gone!

 

 

I'm still here!!

I know I have been neglecting the ol' blog for a while now. Well, there's been a lot going on in my world the last couple of months! There was Christmas, which brought a visit from Santa (aka Daddy).

There was Jack's 2nd birthday, my - ahem...29th. Yes, again.

There was Snowmaggedon, of course, which gave us more snow days here in Texas than we've had in years.

Oh, and come August there will be another little Miller to welcome to the world! And to be honest, that's the real reason I haven't been posting much. I just wrapped up the 1st trimester, which means the couch has been a whole lot more inviting the last several weeks than my work area. But I am happy to be feeling much better. Even mustered the energy to take a walk with the boys to the park today - and man, was it beautiful! Sunshine, temps in the 60's - a welcome change from the last couple of weeks.

I'm definitely starting to get that 2nd trimester 2nd wind, so hopefully I will be able to get back into a regular posting schedule. I have SO much to catch up on. Heads up, though - the kid and baby gear posts may be a bit more frequent than usual... :)
