I have just discovered the work of artist Jane Mount and am completely in love.
From her blog: "This is an ongoing project called 'Ideal Bookshelf'. I paint sets of books as a form of portraiture: a person's favorites (of all time, within a genre or from a particular period in their lives); the ones that helped make them who they are today."
You can send her a photo of your books, and she will paint your collection. Such a wonderful idea! I find myself wondering which books I would choose. There'd definitely be a Jane Austen or two in the mix. I especially love the children's book collections. What a great way to preserve the memory of a child's favorite books!
