New Online Store Opening Soon!

Today we did a little photo shoot with Jack for the home page of my online store. Looks like he's cooperating, right? Not at this particular moment. In fact, this was near the end of our little shoot, and though he slept through most of it, at this point he was awake and had had about enough of looking cute from behind for the camera, thank you very much. Fortunately, we had already gotten all the shots we needed, and they came out great!

Soon all of my onesie and blanket designs as well as my pots and cards will all be available for purchase in our new fancy schmancy online store. It's been in the works for a while...for a LONG while, but we're closing in on the finish line and should have it up and running soon. I know I've said that before, but we're really determined. And I must say, it looks GREAT. Bret has done a fabulous job of programming it and making DixieBelle look good. So, stay tuned, folks! I'll let you know when we're up and running! Inspired

During a few stolen moments this evening, (well, sort of - I am wearing a sleeping Jack in his Bjorn carrier as I am writing this) I decided to get online and catch up on the blog of my favorite designer, Heather Bailey. Heather designs fabric and paper goods and sells Trash Ties - a hair accessory of her own invention. I discovered Heather a while back - I honestly don't remember how, but I have been hooked on her blog ever since. I soon realized I had used several of her fabrics in my zig zag quilt before I knew who she was. I continue to be inspired by her work and her life. Check her out!

Time Flies

My baby will be 6 weeks old this week. He's already gained roughly a pound and 1/2 or so and has almost outgrown the diapers that started out too big. His clothes fit as they should instead of being adorably baggy. He is alert and smiles (sometimes :) and today he rolled from his tummy to his back. Just 6 short weeks ago, he seemed so small and fragile. 

I had a mom moment this week. I was watching him sleep and was overcome with emotion. I wanted him to stay this small and not to get any bigger. I wanted to always be able to hold him on my chest to sleep. I realized that the bigger he gets, the harder it's going to be for me to protect him. 

On the other hand, I can't wait to hear him laugh and help him take his first step and see what he will become. I just wish that he came with a pause button, because it's already going too fast.
