Thursday night we managed to squeeze in our yearly Christmas Craft Party amidst all the pot painting and general madness. In the usual tradition, we made Christmas ornaments. This year we adapted a project by designer Anna Maria Horner to make our ornaments. We took mini canvases, wrapped them in fabric, covered them with a coat of Modge Podge, then painted an image on top with acrylic paint. Add a wire hanger, and wa-lah! You have a unique ornament for the tree. Of course we indulged in Bret's gourmet frito chili pie, complete with avocado and pico de gallo toppings - surprisingly good, folks! Then we were treated to his homemade hot chocolate and whip cream. Mmmm... the best! It was crowded around the craft table, but everyone went home with a completed project - success! Check out the video on Martha Stewart's website for a demo of the project.
