There's a lot that's been going on in our little lives. Our fall shows have started - and almost finished! Two left to go - Neath the Wreath in Plano next week and Chi Omega at the end of November. Then there will just be orders to fill until Christmas! Then little Jack will be here before we know it! That's right. We found out it's a boy and decided to name him Jack. That name had been stuck in my head for a while, and it just seemed to fit what little I know about his personality. No other name we came up with felt right! I'm only a week away from my 3rd trimester, and already I can tell that we're entering a new phase. The getting bigger and bigger phase... Should make the rest of my shows and pot painting interesting! Hopefully I will be able to hold up throughout.
Little Jack has been VERY active, and now that he's growing, his kicks are turning into big stretches. Kind of freaks my husband out a little to look down at my lopsided belly. Gotta tell you, it's a bit strange from my point of view too. But I love feeling him move, and getting to know him in that way. Oh, and he gets the hiccups now too. Maybe it's because it's my first time being pregnant, but he seems really strong to me. I mean, every time I read on the baby sites about what things will feel like - like the first kicks feeling like "fluttering butterflies" or the hiccups feeling like a "little tickle"...not so in my belly. The first little pokes quickly turned into full blown kicks and punches, and the hiccups are more like little eruptions that shake my whole belly! This kid is definitely going into football as soon as he can run. Thank goodness he's most active during the day, or I'd be up all night! Hopefully that will continue after he gets here - I know, probably wishful thinking. I did finally go register at Babies 'R Us the other day. A bit overwhelming, I must say. There was a whole wall of pacifiers and bottles. So many choices! And there is so much baby gear that I gotta tell you I'm not convinced is necessary. I mean, he is going to be tiny - do we really need so much stuff? I'm sure we'll learn as we go. We have so much to learn... Hopefully that 14 hour childbirth class will provide some useful knowledge. 14 hours?! I mean, chances are my actual childbirth will be less than 14 hours, right? Here's hoping.
