Almost, but not quite...

I left for work this morning in a hurry and just threw on some white flip flops from the shoe pile in my closet floor. When I got here, I realized I had on two different shoes - one of last year's dirty white flip flops (gross) that have been demoted to walks and yardwork, and one of the new clean white flip flops that I just bought. Barely noticeable except for the difference in color, texture and size (did my feet shrink?!) Oh well, it's Monday, right? I'm just glad I managed to grab the same color.

Sweet Liberty

I found this jar today in Clyde's - an antique store where I have a booth in downtown McKinney. I have been collecting unusual jars lately, so I couldn't pass this one up! It's a special bicentennial jar that once held Liberty Olives. And how appropriate that it's in the shape of the Liberty Bell (minus the crack, of course). Love it! It's new job will be to hold paperclips or something else equally as important.

Quilt Charm

I came across these old quilts in an antique store the other day. I loved the use of pattern and color. Great fabrics too!

Way to Go, Danica!

I've been really impressed with this girl for a while. I just love it when a girl has the courage to compete with the boys - and kicks their butts! Danica Patrick just won her first IndyCar race this weekend, the Indy Japan 300. She is the first woman ever to accomplish this. Wow. There's just something really cool about that. And the amazing part - she looks GREAT doing it! This girl is beautiful! I'd be a mess. Way to go, Danica!

Young At Heart

Tonight my husband and I along with my parents (happy anniversary Mom & Dad!) and my sister went to see a really fantastic film. Young At Heart is a documentary about a chorus of senior adults who perform modern day pop/rock songs. It was funny and sad and moving - just a very happy, uplifting film! My cheeks almost hurt from smiling so much! I kept wanting to applaud every time they finished a song. It was just really, really great. Here in Dallas it's showing at the Angelika. I highly recommend it. Check out the trailer!

Peanut Butter and Honey Heaven

It's the day before taxes are due - and ours are DONE. And we're getting a refund. The sun is out, the temperature is perfect, and I just finished off just about the best peanut butter and honey sandwich since that first brilliant person invented the combination. So, for just a moment - all is right in the world.

My Favorite Place

Ahh...spring. Which means flowers and planting and warm weather. All of these things combined draw me to my favorite place - the plant nursery. I love to go on my lunch hour and wander through the rows of flowers - the perfect escape from my frigid, windowless cubicle existence. Somehow my husband always senses when I'm there and calls me on my cell to make sure I'm not buying everything they have - BUSTED! I do have to satisfy my need to garden though, and that does require the occasional purchase of a plant or two...or five. But who can resist all the rows of beautiful color? The trick is to get them in the ground and throw away the empty containers before he notices :)
