I am fiercely patriotic. Whenever I hear the Star Spangled Banner or any of our other beloved patriotic songs, I am often moved to tears. I love this country, and I love our flag. Sometimes I think we forget as we go about our busy lives how blessed we are to be in this great country. We take for granted our freedom and the price that is paid to maintain it. I came across this wonderful book at a flea market. It's called "About Our Flag." I just love the illustrations. It was written in a simpler time - a time when the pledge could be recited in its entirety, and no one was offended. A time when children were taught to respect and revere the greatest symbol of our freedom - our beautiful flag.
